Inauguration of the 1st Black President

On Jan. 20th, 2009, Barack Obama, the first African-American presidential elect, was sworn into presidency. During Inauguration day I stayed home with my family as we all sat down to watch Obama come into office, of course we were watching the inauguration on CNN. My mom was really emotional and very touched during the inauguration and was proud to see such change, reminding us again, that she was the first in the house to believe in him. We all enjoyed each speaker and made fun of some One of our favorite speakers besides Obama that we liked was Rev. Joseph Lowery, adding in comedy in seriousness in his speech while others like one women poet near the end, had a poem that made no sense to us, talking about all kinds of things talking in circles instead of getting to the point. Near the end of the inauguration ceremony we were all impressed and touched from Obama's speech and we all looked forward to change for the nation. Everyone was also happy to see Bush finally out of office and Bush himself was probably happy to finally get out of the spot light and remove the responsibility of the nation on his irresponsible shoulders. During the parade after the ceremony, we all had crossed our fingers and were happily relieved that Obama was still safe when Obama finally went into his limo after the parade. Later I called all my family and friends and we talked about Obama becoming president and complained about either going back to school or work. Later that night we all went to bed happy after having an after party of our own.
